The Danbury Fair, a spectacle held every fall from 1869 to 1981, reached the height of its national fame under the management of oil magnate John W. Leahy, who created themed villages, giant figures, grandstand shows and wildly popular stock car races.

Andrea Zimmermann’s latest work is an amateur-sleuth mystery, A Legacy of Lies: A Rock Ridge Mystery, (2021) the first in a series set in a small Connecticut town. Andrea is also the author of three local history books. She was a freelance journalist for the New York Times Connecticut Weekly section and regional magazines. Her experience as a journalist, librarian, and local history buff—and Andrea’s natural inquisitiveness and love of life—informs her fiction. Her new mystery, Horse Latitudes, will be out next year.
